There are meals being served daily across the United States that will leave an imprint on the customer’s mind for a long time to come. Whether it’s the flavor or the unique way the dish is crafted, there’s a variety of factors that make a dish unique. But what about the cost? Would you indulge in a meal that gets most of its recognition from its price tag? This list provides eleven reasons why you should do just that.

1. Caviar Nachos: $100

You’ll have to travel to Brennan’s off Houston for some of the most expensive nachos you’ll ever have the opportunity to try. The nachos are made with fire roasted corn, St. Andre queso, avocado, lime crema, and Mirliton Pico de gallo. The incredible nachos are then topped with one ounce of Petrossian caviar.

2. Cheesesteak: $120

With cheesesteaks available elsewhere for less than $15, why would you visit Barclay Prime and pay $120 for one? Because it’s worth every penny, that’s why. The famous Philadelphia sandwich is made with Foie gras, Kobe beef, and truffles. Don’t forget the Taleggio cheese and the half bottle of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut served with it. Now that’s a meal!

3. Lobster Trap Truffle Mac N Cheese: $195

This off-the-menu item is served at Barton G. in Los Angeles. The $195 price tag comes from the 5-pound Maine lobster and a rich three-cheese lobster sauce. Just be sure to plan ahead because, as they pointed out in USA Today, you have to order this dish at least two days in advance. It’s worth the wait though, just as it’s entirely worth the shocking check.

4. High Roller Sushi Roll: $250

Another off-the-menu item, this High Roller Roll can be ordered at Sushi Roku in Las Vegas. It’s high price tag comes from its unique, flavorful, and expensive ingredients, but tasty enough to be worth every penny. The High Roller Roll is made of lobster tail, avocado, asparagus, tuna, Osetra Golden caviar, Wagyu Kobe beef, truffle oil, and gold sheets.

5. Kobe Beef Steak: $350

All steak lovers will agree if they’ve had the chance to try it, that Kobe beef is the most incredible cut of steak you’ll ever have the opportunity to slice into. At the Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York, you can order a 12-oz Kobe steak dinner.

6. 777 Burger: $777

At Le Burger Brasserie you can order a burger that will set you back $777. You can choose between a sesame seed bun, aged parmesan cheese bun, caramelized onion bun, or oven-dried tomato ciabatta. The bun of your choosing is then topped with a combination of Kobe beef and Maine lobster. The meat is then topped with caramelized sweet onions, French Triple Cream Brie, prosciutto, and 100-year aged balsamic vinegar. The burger is then served with a bottle of Dom Perignon Rose Champagne.

7. Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata: $1,000

At Norma’s, a hot spot in the New York Le Parker Meridien Hotel, they’re serving all-day breakfast and a dish that will set you back a whopping $1,000. The Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata is made with six eggs and a lobster tail from Maine. To top it all off, the frittata is topped with 10 grams of caviar.

8. Luxury Pizza: $1,000

Well this meal was appropriately named because it’s definitely one luxurious pizza. There’s a good chance you’re wondering how in the world a pizza can could possibly be so expensive. At Nino’s Bellissima in Manhattan they top their Luxury Pizza with big pieces of lobster tail, four types of caviar, and creme fraiche. It’s an order-ahead item that will set you back $33 per bite!

9. Grand Opulence Sundae: $1,000

You’ll need to make an appointment ahead of time if you plan on ordering the Grand Opulence Sundae at Serendipity 3 in New York. This is no ordinary dessert, but you wouldn’t expect it to be for that price. The ice cream is flavored with Madagascar vanilla beans and instead of traditional chocolate chips, you’ll be savoring cocoa pieces from the Venezuelan coast. And don’t forget about the toppings. You can expect to enjoy candy made in Paris as well as three different caviars: orange, passion fruit, and Armagnac. Then the entire sundae is decorated with 23k gold leaf. Oh, and did we mention the sundae is served in a Baccarat bowl with a gold spoon?

10. Westin Hotel Bagel: $1,000

A bagel for $1,000? Frank Tujague, Executive Chef of the Westin Hotel in New York created a breakfast treat that will undoubtedly be the best bagel you’ve ever had. The bagel includes white truffle cream cheese as well as a goji berry-infused Riesling jelly with gold leaves. If you like expensive fare, this is a great way to start your day.

At Fleur in Las Vegas, Chef Hubert Keller makes the most expensive burger in the world. It makes sense that it topped the Huffington Post’s list of the most expensive dishes in the U.S. That must be one incredibly flavorful burger, right? You’ll have to decide for yourself by digging into the $5,000 burger. The FleurBurger 5000 contains a Kobe beef patty and a block of seared foie gras, as well as shaved black truffles and a “special sauce” spiked with truffles. All stuffed in between a brioche bun. The burger is served with a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus.

While many of these dishes contain similar expensive ingredients that drive up the price, they’re clearly meant to make the customer feel special and appreciated. However, they’re more than just expensive dishes or they wouldn’t have stayed available for as long as they have. It’s well worth trying to find one of the above restaurants near you. They taste incredible and leave customers more than satisfied, despite their large check.
